About Me

Hello to all!
My name is Carlos Eduardo Marques Rosas, I was born in December 8th 1982, in the sunny city of Manaus, in the middle of the Amazonas state, Brazil. I’ve been living here all those years in… well, my parents house (things work a little different in Brazil than other countries, most of us only leave home when we get married). I always had a tendency of liking new and different things. Since a child I’ve liked American comics and British rock. I love comics! In fact what I wanted to be when I grew up was a comics writer, but things can’t always go the way we plan. (God, I’m such a NERD).

The first band I became a fan was U2. After listening to The Cure’s Wish album, in 1992 or 1993, don’t remember exactly, I knew right at that time that that was my favorite band. Then came Siouxsie & The Banshees, Depeche Mode, and many others. To know what I’m listening these days just visit my Last.Fm profile.

I have always been a person interested in what’s new, in many areas. Even though I’m quite shy and introspective, I decided I would have my background on Communications & Advertising. My final project was about comics, and I got the maximum grade (Yessss, NERD). I’m also making a MBA in Marketing and I’m linking it a lot.
I’ve been blogging since 2003, in Portuguese (http://www.sebosos.com/gordoseboso), and now I decided I’m going to blog in english.

Besides that, I’m an extremely calm person, a little bit anxious. I’m not much of a party all night/every night guy (unless I’m in Helsinki), but I’ve been much more like that in the past. Even with my age I think that the most important thing right now is my work and I’ve been working at Nokia Technology Institute since 2004.
My future plans are working even more, and getting out of Manaus. I want to live in another city, maybe other cities, plural. I want to work, study, meet people, learn, absorb information and culture. I’m also and easy going guy, I have a lot of friends and I really like making new friends.
I guess that’s enough, at least for a while. See you soon!
Best Regards,
Carlos Rosas
